The 59th annual reunion of the 761st Tank Battalion and Allied Veterans Association was held in Detroit, Michigan, from Thursday August 23rd through Saturday August 25th at the Embassy Suites serving Detroit, Troy and Auburn Hills.

The new documentary film, 761st by Executive Director Steven A. White, Director Pete Chatmon and Association Historian Wayne D. Robinson, Producer, was screened at the 59th Reunion. The 70 minute film depicts the story of the 761st Tank Battalion in words of Battalion members, archival footage, and still photographs. It presents the wartime contributions of the Battalion, personal recollections of its members, the Battalion's post-war struggle for recognition, and the implications for the modern civil rights struggle.
